My interest in children with learning differences began with my teaching career for nine years as a middle school Art Teacher. This led me to return to school where I obtained my Masters of Science degree in Counseling Psychology from Our Lady of the Lake University. At that time I was able to receive my licensure as a Licensed Professional Counselor (LPC), Licensed Psychological Associate (LPA) and Licensed Specialist in School Psychology (LSSP). I retired in June 2015 after 20 years from the Department of Special Education at NEISD as an LSSP.

My years in the public school system included work with student evaluations, counseling, teacher, parent and administrative consultations and support, as well as conducting Admission, Review and Dismissal meetings (IEP meetings or ARDs). Through my school experience I have specialized in the areas of parenting skills, learning disabilities, Autism and behavioral disorders. For many years I was part of an Autism Evaluation Team, and for three years was exclusively part of the Autism Spectrum Support and Evaluation Team (ASSET), which focused solely on evaluation and support of students with Autism.

For the last fifteen years I have also maintained a part-time private practice as a Licensed Professional Counselor. My areas of interest as a therapist include women's issues, relationship issues, ADHD management, autistic adults and their challenges with living in a neurotypical world, parenting concerns/coaching, and grief resolution. I went full time with my practice in 2015.
